Join a research study: Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Understanding ADHD and Similar Disorders

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is synonymous with hyperactivity, impulsivity and a lack of focus. You may have attention-deficit disorder (ADD) if you suffer from a lack of focus only; ADHD is present when all behavioral issues occur.
Children's Symptoms
Take note if your child has become unusually inattentive. He or she may be forgetful or have difficulty staying efficient. Teachers may also notice tardiness, and how easily distracted they are. They may also struggle with listening and following directions, and may constantly alter projects.
Adult Symptoms
Remember that symptoms may not always indicate this disorder. Look out for extreme mood swings and irritability. If you’ve always been well organized but have ceased planning and prioritizing, you may have this condition.
You may also have always paid attention to the tiniest detail and now lack that ability. Careless mistakes, impatience, making irrational decisions, and excessive risk taking also are symptoms.

If you or someone you know have ADHD, you may be eligible to participate in one of two research studies. These studies seek to determine the safety and efficacy of an investigational drug for the treatment of adolescents or adults.
ADHD is one of the most common reasons children are referred for mental health services, yet it can also affect adolescents and adults. A pattern of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity are its most common symptoms. Such deficits can significantly disrupt academic or work-related efforts as well as social relationships.
All study-related visits, laboratory work, study medication, and all study-related procedures including physical exams are provided at no cost. Qualified participants could receive compensation. Contact us to find out if you qualify.
